A bay area health care provider was recently arrested for elder abuse in connection with the death of a senior citizen who lived in Vallejo. When police arrived at the home of the senior citizen, they discovered that the senior citizen had been dead for an extended period of time. Police did not comment on the possible cause of death, but did arrest the woman who was supposed to be her care provider. Vallejo elder abuse lawyers say that this is a potential case of health care provider abandonment.
Solano County Health and Social Services asked police to do a welfare check on the 78-year old senior citizen. The fire department also responded to the scene; and authorities found the body of the senior citizen. Solano County Health and Social Services identified her health care provider and gave police her name. The defendant in this case was arrested for elder abuse, neglect, and possession of a controlled substance. Vallejo elder abuse lawyers warn that more senior citizens are falling victim to health care provider abandonment as the population of senior citizens continues to grow.
