San Diego area detectives have arrested a man for elder abuse. Detectives are calling it their biggest gypsy arrest ever. The defendant has taken advantage of elderly victims. The victims are all women in their 80’s. The defendant is a 35year-old male. San Diego financial elder abuse attorneys warn the public to be on the lookout for elder abuse.
According to detectives, the defendant is a travelling gypsy who targets elderly women. Allegedly, the defendant and an accomplice fool senior citizen drivers into pulling over while they are driving. Then they allegedly set fires in the trunks of the senior’s car. After that, allegedly, the defendant would convince the senior citizen drivers that the automobile needed immediate repair in order to ensure safety. San Diego financial elder abuse attorneys warn seniors to watch out for scammers.
According to police, five drivers in the San Diego area were duped out of money. Police have been searching for the defendants for several months and are relieved they have been apprehended. According to detectives, the gypsies have left a trail of police reports across several states. Allegedly they would work in one area and then move on after victimizing senior drivers. At the hearing the defendant plead not guilty; then the judge declared him a flight risk and set bail at $500,000. San Diego financial elder abuse attorneys are glad that this defendant is no longer victimizing seniors.
