Many food and dietary supplement manufacturers falsely promise the DHA in their products will support brain health. However, reliable scientific evidence has shown that DHA supplementation does not benefit the brain in consumers who are older than two years of age. California’s Consumer Protective Laws, including California’s Unfair Competition Law (Business & Professions Code §17200) and Consumers Legal Remedies Act (Civil Code §1750), prohibit manufacturers from engaging in such misleading and deceptive business practices.
