Consumer Attorneys of California Honors Ingrid For Volunteer Work
Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), a lawyer’s group representing Californians against injustice, discrimination and harm, recently honored Ingrid M. Evans of Evans Law Firm, Inc. for her volunteer dedication to elder justice and environmental protection. We who are her colleagues at Evans Law Firm are proud of Ingrid’s efforts and the recognition she has received. We know firsthand Ingrid’s devotion to clients of her private law practice, volunteer efforts to senior groups, and her initiatives on behalf of our beautiful California shoreline. We’re thrilled that CAOC honored Ingrid this week for working hard to improve the quality of life for so many of us here in California.
Ingrid’s dedication to protecting seniors began when she was a Deputy City Attorney in San Francisco and brought the first financial elder abuse case on behalf of a 76-year-old man manipulated and stolen from by a 40-year-old “friend.” When Ingrid moved to private practice she brought her passion for elder justice with her, taking on class actions and individual cases to fight for seniors. Her volunteer efforts followed her passion too.
Since 2011 Ingrid has served on the Board of Directors of Legal Assistance for Seniors (“LAS”) headquartered in Oakland. LAS is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure the independence and dignity of seniors through advocacy, counseling, and education. Ingrid promotes that mission by advising LAS staff, organizing community education events, lobbying in Sacramento for stronger elder protections, fundraising, and other volunteer efforts.
In addition to her volunteer efforts for seniors, Ingrid also devotes her time and talents to environmental protection. She has started a campaign #take10leavenone which encourages beach clean-up projects and inspires beachgoers to take 10 pieces of trash with them when they leave a beach and leave none behind. A native Californian, Ingrid loves the ocean and our State’s magnificent coastline. She knows its beauty is endangered unless each of us does our part to keep the coast pristine. She shares her #take10leavenone message to all and especially to young people hoping that future generations recognize that maintaining the natural beauty of our California coastline is their responsibility.
We are proud of our founder’s dedication to Californians young and old and the beautiful place we all call home!
