An educational event, including a film starring the late Mickey Rooney, to help put and end to the financial exploitation of senior citizens will be held at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco this upcoming Sunday, June 21. Ingrid Evans of the Evans Law Firm will be answering questions related to elder abuse as one of the expert speakers on the panel.
“Last Will and Embezzlement” is a ground-breaking documentary which examines the financial exploitation of the elderly. The film features deeply moving yet greatly disturbing first-hand accounts from real-life victims, including Hollywood’s icon, the late Mickey Rooney, as well as in-depth interviews with experts who discuss such key issues as victim profiles, the perpetrators’ modus operandi, the symptoms and effects of these crimes and, most importantly, potential solutions to this ever-increasing worldwide problem.
The event will be broken into two parts: a forum in the morning, 9am – 10am, a discussion with Pamela S.K. Glasner about elder financial abuse in general and her family’s experiences in particular.
Then, after mass, at 1:00 pm, the event will continue with a screening of the film, followed by a keynote / Q&A session with filmmaker (and victims daughter Pamela S.K. Glasner) followed by an audience Q&A with Ingrid Evans (Elder Law Attorney), Shirley Krohn (Senior Assembly Member with the California Senior Legislature) and other industry professionals all of whom will be able to answer very specific questions about protecting yourself and those you love.
Admission is free. Reservations not required. For more information, call (415) 749-6300.
